Ingrassia & Sons | Our Story
New York roots meet Music City soul
Ingrassia & Sons is a new old-school Italian deli in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood — rooted in family memory, built for this city. This is the story of how a kid from Long Island finally made it behind the counter.
Sunday meals on Long Island
Every weekend, John's family gathered at his grandparents' home — his Neapolitan grandmother Mary and Sicilian grandfather John always cooking. Antipasto, lasagna, broccoli rabe, ricotta cheesecake: those meals became the blueprint for everything that followed.
The long road to the counter
After Wharton, Stanford Law, and three years on Wall Street, John built a 30-plus-year music career through Sony Music, Columbia Records, and the presidency of Sony-BMG Commercial Music Group. In 2009 he moved to Nashville — and started dreaming about the deli he'd open one day.
The deli he grew up with
John finally stopped dreaming and started building — a classic Italian-American deli, the kind he knew from childhood but couldn't find in Music City. Ingrassia & Sons opened on Humphreys Street in Wedgewood-Houston, and Nashville had been waiting for it.
What's on the counter today
The menu is anchored by signature Italian sandwiches — the Sneaky Italian Turkey and the porchetta — served on bread baked in-house daily, with prepared foods, pastries, and Italian specialty products alongside. We can't wait to feed you.
